Windows Vista is coming to an end

Windows Vista is an operating system made by Microsoft which is used from personal computers to business devices. In a months time Windows Vista is coming to an end.

Once Windows Vita is closed down there will be no new security updates, non-security hot fixes, free or paid assistance support options or online technical content updates. Running an older operating system means taking risks and those risks will become worse after the deadline of closing. Mozilla will also be shutting down support for its Firefox browser which is running on Windows XP and Windows Vista in 2017. Chrome has already ended giving support to Windows Vista, Firefox will follow through with this next.

Windows Vista

If you are trying to upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 this is call an all in-place upgrade. All the current programmes and data that you contain should stay the exact same as they were appearing on your computer before. The first thing that is crucial is to backup you PC and all your data before you make the switch just incase something goes wrong in the process of moving over. If you need IT support then we are here to help!

The upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 is what Microsoft calls “an in-place upgrade”. All your current programs and data should stay the same as they were before. It is, of course, important to back up your PC and all your data first, because things sometimes go wrong. Microsoft encourages and recommends users of Windows Vista to upgrade to Windows 10 as it is one of the most popular platforms which will also offer support unlike Windows Vista which is soon to close down. Moving to Windows 10 will involve you to most likely buy a new laptop with Windows 10, even though your computer with Windows Vista will still work it’ll probably be infected with bugs and security flaws which is one of the main reasons for upgrading.
